The work your business still does by hand

We measure what it is costing you, then build the system that does it instead. The first week costs nothing and you keep the numbers either way.

No obligation · Nothing changes about how you work

_01_

The problem

Most of it runs on someone remembering

“How many enquiries did you miss last week?”

Almost nobody can answer this. Not because they are careless, but because nothing keeps a record of the ones that got away.

“Who chases a quote that goes quiet?”

Usually whoever remembers. Which means the ones that get chased are the ones somebody happened to think of.

“How many places does that get typed?”

The same customer details go into the diary, the spreadsheet and the accounts package. Three times, by hand, every time.

“What is that costing you?”

This is the one that matters and it is never a number. It is a shrug. You cannot budget for a loss you have never seen measured.

Put your own numbers in

Most people guess low. Move the sliders.

Three numbers is enough for a rough idea. It will not be right, and that is rather the point.

Rough annual cost

£93,600

156 of 1,300 enquiries a year, gone quiet

This is an estimate, not a measurement. It is three numbers you have just guessed at, which is exactly the position most businesses are in. The measurement week replaces it with the real figure, taken off your own line over seven days, at no cost.

How it works

We measure first, then we build

Nobody should buy a system on a hunch, including you. So the first thing we do is put a number on it.

  1. Step 1

    Fifteen minutes on the phone

We work out how work actually reaches you and where it goes once it does. If there is nothing worth measuring, we will say so and that is the end of it.

  2. Step 2

    A week of measurement

We put something light on top of what you already use. No new handsets, no migration, no downtime, nothing for your team to learn. It sits there for seven days and records what is falling through.

  3. Step 3

    You get the number

At the end you get the list and what it was worth, priced against your own average job value. Not our benchmark, not an industry average. Yours.

  4. Step 4

Then, and only then, we build

The number tells us what to build. If enquiries are being dropped we fix the front door. If the admin is eating the week we automate it. If not enough is coming in at all, the problem was never the system and we say that too.

What we build

Whatever the number points at

Entry

Measurement week

Seven days of live measurement on what you already have. Free, and the only thing we ask you to say yes to at first.

01

Call handling

Every call that rings out gets answered or answered for, and the caller gets asked what they needed.

02

Follow up and quoting

Quotes and enquiries get chased on a schedule instead of whenever somebody remembers.

03

Workflow automation

The same details stop being typed into three systems by three people.

04

Internal tools

Small apps and dashboards for the jobs a spreadsheet has quietly outgrown.

05

Lead generation

For when the week says the problem is not leakage, it is that not enough is coming in.

Who you are dealing with

You get me, not an account manager

Colby Barton-Crump, founder of Ordane

I am Colby. I run the measurement week, I go through the numbers with you, and I build whatever comes out of it. There is no account manager and no handover to somebody you have never spoken to.

Before this I did sales at an online estate agency, which is where I got interested in this. The demand was never the problem. Enquiries came in and fell through gaps nobody was measuring, and everybody had a theory about it and nobody had a number.

Ordane is founder led and deliberately small. If that matters either way, better you know now.

Reasonable questions

The things people ask first

Why is the first week free?

Because I would rather show you a number than argue with you about one. Most of this industry sells on a promise. The week means you decide with evidence off your own business, and if the number comes back small you have lost nothing and got an answer.

Do we have to change our phone system or software?

No. The measurement sits on top of what you already have. No porting, no new handsets, no migration, and nothing for your team to learn. If it needed all that to work, hardly anyone would let us try it.

Is a customer going to end up talking to a robot?

During the measurement week, no. Nothing answers on your behalf and your line behaves exactly as it does now. If we build call handling afterwards, how much it does and where it hands over to a person is your call, not mine.

What does the work cost after the week?

It depends entirely on what the number says needs building, so quoting before we have measured would be guesswork. You will get a fixed price before anything starts, and you are free to take the number and do nothing.

How new is this?

New. Ordane is founder led and I would rather tell you that than have you find out. What it means in practice is that you get me on everything, the measurement week costs you nothing, and I will turn down work I cannot do properly rather than learn on your money.

How long until it is doing something useful?

The measurement is live within about fifteen minutes and runs for seven days. A first build is usually a couple of weeks after that, depending on what it is.

Next step

Find out what it is actually costing you

Fifteen minutes to work out whether there is anything worth measuring. If there is not, I will tell you and we will leave it there.
